Brushseal
A seal with profile (or brush profiles) is / are easy to assemble and offers a flexible and durable seal for any surface. We are happy to think along with you to create a suitable brush profile for your application.
Environmental influences such as temperature, humidity, frequency and intensity of use, exposure to UV light and much more determine, among other things, whether a brush seal does what you expect from it. Nylon, Polypropylene and various mixed hair compositions each have their own specific properties that may or may not make them suitable for your application as a sealant or draught brush.
We supply our brush profiles with a wide variety of fibers such as Nylon, Polypropylene (PP) and mixed hair in a mix of horse hair and synthetic fibers. We supply the most common solutions as standard products, and we can also make any desired solution customized to your specifications or develop it together.
Mounting
The desired way of mounting determines which brush profile is suitable. For example, there are profiles that we use for mounting a draft strip under the door or for a draft strip at the bottom of the door.
Brush profile
We offer a choice of different standard brush profiles, which can also be made to measure if desired.
- F -profiles are attached under the door.
- h -profiles are attached to the door.
Profiles in other angles are also available.
Filament
Borstelstrips worden gemaakt met verschillende soorten filament (vezels) en daarbinnen kennen we veel verschillende kwaliteiten die een borstel bijzondere eigenschappen kunnen gegeven.
Artificial fibers in brush
Nylon 6, 6.6, 6.10, 6.12, Polyester PBT and LDPE
High tech polymers such as UL94 V0 flame retardant, high temperature resistant filament such as Nylon, PPS, PEEK, conductive and anti static Nylon.
Mixed hair in brush
Brush strips made of mixed hair have their own characteristics. Because these brushes contain a mix of synthetic fibers and natural hair such as horsehair, they reinforce each other and enable application in very different circumstances.
What is the best brush? What kind of filament should I use?
To make sure you have the right brush for the right application, we briefly explain the differences below. Not sure? Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Moisture and brushes
Wet or dry application of technical brushes.
The polymers most suitable for use in a high humidity environment are Polyester PBT, Nylon 6.10 and Nylon 6.12 because they absorb very little moisture. PP and LDPE do not absorb moisture at all. The longer Nylon 6 and 6.6 are in contact with moisture, the softer and less effective they become.
Chemicals
When brushes have to do their job in a chemical environment, let our sales office staff advise you. We work with a variety of filaments to find a targeted solution. Nylon is resistant to alkaline (pH> 7) while Polyester is able to tolerate acids (pH <7). PP is resistant to all chemicals.
Extreme temperature
Temperature and brushes. Normal Nylon and Polyester brushes withstand a continuous ambient temperature of 80 -100 ° C. Polypropylene (PP) and LDPE cannot tolerate such a high temperature. High tech polymers such as UL94 V0 flame retardant and high temperature filament such as Nylon, PPS, PEEK, conductive and anti static Nylon are used to create brushing applications such as seals and guides that withstand high temperatures.
Fire resistance
There are various fibers that we can process in a technical brush to help improve the fire-resistant properties of your product. The flame-retardant or flame-extinguishing properties can make the difference in spreading fire to the next room. We are happy to advise you.
